GELEH

STRATEGIES

STRATEGIES

GELEH will ensure that the needs of women and girls are considered seriously in all the plans and national projects through integrating gender equality in policies and national legislation, regulations, policies, programs and government initiatives. This will materialize through the following strategies

RESEARCH/INTELLECTUAL

Through this strategy, rigorous original gender-based research will be produced. This research will not only be academic, but it would also include action research, empirical reports and information collection and production of gender segregated statistics about different matters in Egypt and in the Middle East and North Africa.

Network

Through this strategy, a network of academics, scholars, and NGOs researchers will be formed to strengthen the quality of gender research. It shall also collaborate with relevant NGOs and institutes in all governorates to expand the network for data collection and outreach. Methods range from traditional seminars and meetings to digital platforms and online activities.

Network

Opportunities

The network shall offer opportunities to:

-Share research

-Source research needed

-Identify research gaps

-Participate in relevant round tables and programmatic initiatives (based on topic)

-Participate in exchange and networking with centers with similar missions abroad for knowledge and experience sharing.

-Participate in national and international conferences

Global Reach

TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE/ CONSULTATION

Through this strategy, the research and knowledge produced will be disseminated to relevant target groups including government institutions.

GELEH shall support both civil society organizations and governmental entities through offering consultancy and training programs, and workshops on gender with relation to other topics, such as the law.

Moreover, it would also offer small courses on gender for young scholars and researchers.

Capacity Building

AWARENESS-RAISING

Through this strategy, lectures and seminars in a variety of core gender equality issues will be provided. Trainings and workshops will be organized through applying unique experimental approaches relating the concept of gender to various important issues such as the decision-making process.

To enhance this strategy, partnerships with both local and international entities and experts in the field of gender and development will be established. The services provided through this strategy target different stakeholders and decision makers.
